DR. MAYA BARNOUTI MD, CCFP
Family Physician

Dr. Maya Barnouti provides comprehensive family medical care to patients of all ages, with a special interest in women's health.

Dr. Barnouti's medical journey began in the Middle East where she graduated as one of the top ranked medical students from Al-Nahrain University in Baghdad, Iraq. In medical school, she began to develop her special interest in women's health care, learning about obstetric care, antenatal care, and infertility. She later immigrated with her family to Canada in 2000.

On Canadian soil, Dr. Barnouti enrolled in the accelerated recertification system of the Medical Council of Canada and the College of Family Physicians of Canada. In a very short time, she became a qualified family physician in Canada and started her Canadian medical journey in Newfoundland.

With her husband completing his own medical training in Michigan, Dr. Barnouti had to relocate with her two young sons to Glovertown, NL. In Glovertown, she provided care to a wide spectrum of patient cases, including rural medicine, emergency care as well as elective and preventative medicine. During this time, Dr. Barnouti found herself immersed in Newfoundland culture where she had countless invaluable life experiences.

In 2004, Dr. Barnouti moved to Windsor with her sons to reunite with her husband. She worked in Windsor until 2007 when she relocated once more to join her extended family in Burlington. Since then, Dr. Barnouti has been practicing in Oakville and she continues to enjoy taking care of her patients to this day. Over the years, she has developed a wealth of knowledge and experience in the vast field of medicine which reflects in her practice today. In 2014, she was recognized and designated as a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Dr. Barnouti looks forward to serving her community for many more years to come.

In her spare time, Dr. Barnouti enjoys exercising, traveling and cooking. She has a passion for the outdoors where she enjoys walking, hiking, and cycling with her family.
